In this paper,we briefly introduced the main factors influencing the working status of the plasma facing materials in the magnetic confinement fusion reactor,and presented how the thermal load and the highly energetic particles impacted on the structure of the first wall material of tungsten.In addition,according to the situation in this field,some urgent concerns in research were discussed.
