By investigating five wastewater treatment plants of Shenyang, the operation situations of the plants are stable. Average values of the main water quality indicators can meet the second class national discharge standard. However, some problems happened in operation capacities among the plants with increasing wastewater volume. The primary plan on capacities and technology of wastewater treatment plants in Shenyang are put forward to solve the existing problems.
