Natural bentonite was used as an adsorbent for the investigation of the adsorption kinetics, isotherms and thermodynamic parameters of Cu^2+ from aqueous solution at various contact time, the vibrating rate, mass of bentonite, initial concentration of Cu^2+ , initial pH and temperature. Adsorption meets the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The initial stage of the adsorption is controlled by interface diffusion and the adsorption can be followed by intraparticle diffusion model after 45 min. The adsorption follows Freundlich isotherm model. The process is spontaneous, endothermie and irreversible.
