Gene networks related research has now become one of the most important research areas in Bioinformatics. In this survey we introduce the progress of gene circuits, which is an important method for researching gene networks, from the following three aspects; the basle module of gene eircuits; the design and implementation of gene circuits; and the application of synthetic gene circuits.
