This paper proposes an approach to generate software safety test cases from UML 2.0 sequence diagrams.The procedure is based on model-based testing techniques with test cases generated from sequence diagrams translated into Event Transition Diagram.This can improve the automation of software safety testing.This method can be used in the earlier phases of software design and development process.The considered novel features of UML 2.0 sequence diagrams apply the traditional testing method to software safety testing.
