The paper, from the perspective of local residents in tourist destinations, taking Zhouzhuang, China＇s first historic and cultural water-town as an example, first studies the local residents＇ perceived assessment to the impact of developing tourism industry and then inspects their perceived assessment of life quality. The paper also studies the relationship between local residents＇ life quality and the perception of tourism impact and points out that the local people hold an attitude of support towards the development of tourism industry. The ultimate aim of this study is to provide scientific basis for the government to mobilize local residents to be actively involved in the development of tourism.
