利用镁助熔剂法制备出六方片状的二硼化镁(MgB2)单晶,并通过扫描电子显微镜和金相显微镜对MgB2晶体形貌进行了研究。结果发现,(111)、(101)和(011)晶面的生长速率远远大于(1-10)、(100)和(010)晶面生长速率,即晶体沿口或6轴的生长速率明显很大,而沿c轴的生长速率很小,甚至随着晶体生长并未发生变化。在MgB2单晶中首次观察到{0001}晶面层的解理与石墨相似,对MgB2单晶的生长机制进行了讨论。
Hexagonal plate single crystals of magnesium diboride (MgB2) were prepared by a Mg-flux method. The morphology of MgB2 crystals was investigated by scanning electron microscope and metallographic microscope. The growth rates of (1 T1 ), (101) and (011) crystal facets were much faster than those of ( 1-10 ), (100) and (010) facets. The crystal growth velocity along a- or b-axes was greater, and the growth velocity along c-axe was lower or unchangeable. The cleavage along {0001} crystal plane layer direction was found, which was similar to graphite. A possible growth mechanism of MgB2 single crystals was discussed.
