In the paper, basic theory and principle of optimally regulating water resources in irrigation district are expatiated. A lot of problems exist in the proeess that water resources in irrigation district is exploited and utilized. Aiming at these problems, a model of optimally regulating water resources in irrigation district is introduced in detail and current research status is reviewed. Prospective development trends of reasonably regulating water resources are also presented.
