Aging is one of the forefront and hot topics in biomedical research. Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been normally used as a model organism for cellular aging research. It not only provides clues to understand the mechanisms of human aging, but also plays a vital role in biomedical research. Now we give a brief overview to the relevant research and its molecular regulation mechanism about S. cerevisiae as a biological model for cellular aging research.
