In order to improve the precision of one-dimensional river models, a high-precision discrete method for the Saint-Venant equations, which has a strong theoretical basis and is stable in computation, was proposed through combination with the numerical techniques of limiter and entropy correction based on the flux difference splitting scheme from the perspective of wave conservation. A case study of one-dimensional dam-break modeling shows that the method is reliable and stable when dealing with shocked flow. The results of verification by an experimental flume with steep slopes show that the method has high precision in simulating transcritical flow. The method is effective and can be used for one- dimensional flow simulation.
