The robust stabilization problem （RSP） for interval plant family was studied. A necessary solvability condition of RSP is that every member plant must be stabilizable, that is, it is free of unstable pole-zero cancellation. It is shown that stabilizability is also a sufficient solvability condition of RSP. The numerical example was presented to illustrate the procedure of the synthesis of the optimal robust controller for the interval plant family.
