Two novel 2", 2"-dimethy-3", 4"-2H dihydropyran-5", 6" : 5,6-flavonoids, 4', 7-dimethoxy- 2", 2"-dimethy-3 ", 4"-2H dihydropyran- ( 5", 6" : 5,6 ) -flavonoids and 2', 4' ,7-trimethoxy-2", 2"-dime- thy-3",4"-2H dihydropyran-( 5",6" : 5,6) -flavonoids, were synthesized from benzene-1,3,5-triol and 3-methylbut-2-enoic acid by a eight-step reaction of protection, methylation, deprotection, Clemmen- son reduction, Fries rearrangement, Baker-Venkataraman rearrangement, cyclization. The structures were characterized by I H NMR, 13C NMR and MS.
