Applying principal component method to evaluate water resources carrying capacity in Zhengzhou City according to indicators from 2003 to 2011, two principal components which affected the dynamic changes of water resources carrying capacity were selected including situation of socio-economic development and situation of water resources. Adopting the contribution ratios of two principal components as weight in combination with their scores, a comprehensive evaluation on water resources carrying capacity of Zhengzhou City was conducted. The results show that Zhengzhou City water resources carrying capacity from 2003 to 2011 is on the decline. However, with the development of technology, there is also some surplus carrying capacity.
