The theory of tumor stem cell offers new target and orientation for tumor therapy. Although tumor stem cells have already been isolated and identified from acute myeloid leukemia, breast carcinoma and brain tumors through stem cell surface markers, many surface markers of malignant tumor stem cells are still not clear. Therefore a simple analysis of side population to preliminarily screen stem cells is more and more used.
