The cerebrovascular disease and cardiovascular disease of Traditional Chinese Medicine,respectively belonging to stroke,chest stuffiness and pains and other category. The site of the disease is in brain and heart,but the connection is quite close. With the development of collaterals disease theory,we can from the perspective of collaterals and collateral disease unify stroke and chest stuffiness and pains. Collateral and pulse are the communicative channels of the heart and brain. The site of the cardio-cerebrovascular disease in the collaterals,pathologic basis is collaterals injury,pathological changes of the collaterals loss of nourishment,collaterals with blood stasis resistance and toxin impairing collaterals are consistent. And thus from collaterals disease theory to explore simultaneous treatment of both the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases offers a new way for the treatment of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases,meanwhile making it clear that the research targets of simultaneous treatment of both the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
