Fractal image compression becomes a hot topic because of its high compression ratio,but it also has some disadvantages especially the imbalance between coding and encoding.According to the basic principle of fractal image compression,an improved method is given,which replaces the traditional method and simplifies the computation based on the main diagonal before matching the range pool and the domain pool.Experimental results show that this method leads to better results on time and PSNR.
