Aliigatorweed, Alternanthera philoxeroides was one of the most key invasive weeds, recognized as one of 16 serious invasive species in China. Agasicles hygophila, Vogtia malli, Amynothrips andersoni, Disonycha argentinensis, Systena nitentula, Cassida piperata are biological control agents for alligatorweed. Classification system, morphological characters, biol- ogy, bionomics and host specificity test of these biological agents were described. In addition, the release and the evaluation of application effect in the field application were also reviewed.
