Based on the microlayer model for pool boiling of pure fluid, a theoretical model for pool boiling heat transfer of binary mixture was presented. In the model the influence of mass transfer on heat transfer was also considered. The heat transfer coefficient for pool boiling of binary mixtures was predicted theoretically. In this model, the heat transfer with boiling was mainly attributed to the evaporation of microlayers which were periodically formed while the individual bubbles were forming. The agreement between the present theoretical model and the experiment data is good in the entire range of concentration at higher heat flux.
