Objective： To develop an information system for emergency observation, meet the new policy requirements and reflect the characteristics of emergency observation room. Method： The software package which fits with the special medical model of emergency observe room was developed on the platform of the hospital information system （HIS） and inherited the Patient Index of HIS. Results： Over 10 function modules were developed, including emergency observation doctor workstation and emergency observation nurse workstation, etc. The emergency observation information system has been put into service in clinic applications. And the anticipate purpose was fulfilled fairly well.
