The necessity of study on fretting fatigue, particularly the fretting fatigue in aluminium alloy, is stated. The current research result is presented from the three aspects , including the new experiment design, microstructural characteristics and the effecting factors which falls into contact pressure, displacement amplitude and the coefficient of friction. And some methods of protection are put forward. In the end, according to the present situation, some problems needed to be further studied are come up with.
