Guizhi is widely used in clinical treatment as Traditional Chinese Medicine. To study the chemical constituents and pharmaceutical action in the dried tender stem of Cinnamomi cassiaThe compounds were respectively identified as cinnamylalde- hyde, cannamic acid, 2-methoxy cinnamic acid, 1,4-diphenyl-butane-dione, coumarin, 13-sitosterol, diterpenoids and polymer-gly- coside. Experimental research demonstrated that Guizhi had vasodilative effect, antioxidation and reducing bolld lipid. It showed that Guizhi has good prospects in the treatment of cardiovascular system for drug development after component analysis and mech- anism on cardiovascular system.
