用真空电弧熔炼法制备了Gd5Si4-xInx(x=0.0,0.5,0.8,1.2)系列化合物.室温粉末X线衍射分析表明,该系列化合物均为正交Gd5Si4型晶体结构,并含有少量六角Gd5Si3杂相.磁性测量结果表明,Gd5Si4-xInx(x=0.0,0.5,0.8,1.2)系列化合物的居里温度分别为345,340,330,326K.当外加磁场在0~1.5T范围内变化时,居里温度附近的最大等温磁熵变分别为2.9,0.8,0.6,0.6J/(kg·K).
A serious of Gd5Si4-xInx(x=0.0,0.5,0.8,1.2) compounds were prepared by arc melting method.The crystal structure and magnetocaloric effect in the compounds have been investigated by using X-ray diffraction and magnetic measurements.Powder X-ray diffraction results show that the compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic Gd5Si4 type structure,a minor Gd5Si3 was detected as impurity phase.Magnetic measurements show that the TC of Gd5Si4-xInx are 345,340,330,326K,and the magnetic entropy changes of the compounds for a magnetic field change of 0~1.5T are 2.9,0.8,0.6,0.6J/(kg·K),respectively for x=0.0,0.5,0.8,1.2.
