Service advertisement and discovery is an important component for MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Networks). The existing protocols are not designed for mobile ad hoc networks. Service advertisement and discovery protocol for MANET based on ZRP (Zone Routing Protocol) is presented in this paper.Its service advertisement and discovery information exists in the ZRP control packets, thus avoiding excessive traffic overhead of periodic advertisements, and saving precious bandwidth and energy consumption.
