Hydrotalcite-like compounds （HTlc） is a novel functional material with layered structure. In recent years, the catalytic property of HTlc material has been concerned especially. The basic preparing methods of the cata- lytic materials based on HTlc are mainly introduced, the latest research progress of the three types such as loading metal, intercalation and calcined composite oxides in catalysis are reviewed, and the research status of photoeatalysis of these materials are discussed.
