In this study, precipitation and gel filtration were used to purify an antioxidant polysaccharide LB2 from the roots of Nulumbo nuciferra Gaertn. LB2 was a polysaccharide complex with a molecular weight of 18.8 kDa. LB2 was composed of Mannose, Malotriose, glucose, Galactose and xylose in the molar ratio of 2.. 8. 7. 8. 1. LB2 showed strong inhibito- ry activity on the 3P-processing activity of HIV-1 integrase. It would be a novel natural anti- HIV-1 reagent.
