ZHANG.lie, was born in June, 1972. He received the B.S. degree in communication engineering and Ph.D. degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China in 1993 and in i998, respectively. Currently, he is a Professor and the Vice Dean of Institute of Information Photonics and Optical Communications at BUPT. He is sponsored above ten projects by the research funds of Chinese government. 8 books, i7 1TU-T recommendationcontributions, and more than 100 articles have been published. 18 patents have also been granted. He serves as one of TPC members in APOC2006/2007, ACP2009/2010/2011/2012, OECC2009, PS2009, ONDM2010 and COIN2012. His research focuses on flexible bandwidth optical network, software defined networking, multi-failure survivability and so on. He is pursuing the Ph.D. degree in communi- cation and information systems at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China. Currently, he is also a visiting student at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTDallas), USA. He received the B.E. degree in communications engineering from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China in 2005, and won the qualification of direct candidate for the Ph.D. degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology from Beijing University of Posts and Tel- ecommunications in 2007.
