英文摘要：

The largest single ecosystem on Earth is the deep sea.It contains abundant and unique microbial resource which still needs to be well investigated and explored.Moreover,the research on the deep sea microorganisms and their habitat will help us for a better understanding on the ancient Earth and how the environment evolutes,which will further bring a clue on the origin of life on Earth and the potential extraterrestrial life form.In this review,we have addressed the history and the current status of deep sea microbiology research,furthermore we also discussed the frontiers and the implications of this research field.
