It is of great significance for ensuring fair access to some basic drugs for the elderly to promote grading treatment, reduce the burden of drugs for elderly and deal with the aging problem. By combing the policy of free supply of essential drugs in some parts of China and free medication policy targeted at elderly in Thailand, South Africa, Canada, Australia, and the United States, this paper proposed the suggestion on the establishing China＇s the full guarantee system of essential drugs for the elderly at the basic medical institutions.
