The cracking and sliding of embankment built on expansive soil ground are currently the most serious diseases during highway construction. Based on the treatment of expansive soil embankment cracking disease in Guangxi,the causes and characteristics of slope failure were analyzed from expansive soil embankment engineering geology and soil property characteristics. The treatment programs of ＂microsteel tube pile grouting ＋ root piles pavement grouting ＋ deep drainage＂were proposed and its design and construction points were introduced. The implementation results show that the desired purpose was achieved.
