Melon （Cucumis melo L. ） is a model in the study of unisexual flower development. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the study of sexual differentiation in melon, but the regulation mechanisms of its sexual differentiaion has not yet been fully clarified. In this article, we reviewed sex determination genes, endogenous hormones, and sexual differentiation hypothesis in melon.
