Calponin family includes calponin （CaP） and smooth muscle 22 alpha （SM22α）, which is characterized by an calponin homology （CH） domain and one or more copies of calponin-likc repeat （CLR）. As actin-binding protein, CAP and SM22α arc associated with actin cytoskclcton remodelling via interacting with Factin, and arc involved in the regulation of cellular biological bchaviour in physiological and pathological conditions.
