Odjective ：To explore the effect of different visual stimuli on P300 in male patients with heroin dependence （MPHD）. Methods.Thirty -eight MPHD and 14 healthy controls were examined on the visual cognitive potential P300 at forehead zone （Fz）, central zone （Cz） and parietal zone （Pz） with neuroscan event related potential apparatus. Results： MPHD showed significant lower P300 latency change scope in response to animal related pictures compared with drug related pictures at Fz, Cz and Pz zones than healthy controls （P 〈 0. 05 or P 〈 0. 01 ）. Conclusion： MPHD suffer from cortex dysfunction presenting as attention bias and their executive control capacity have decreased.
