Soil fertility is the integrated representation of many basic characteristics of soil. We should base on the whole viewpoints in evaluating soil fertility not focusing on an individual fertility factor only. Integrated indexes, both qualitative and quantitative, of soil fertility evaluation are needed. It is named as numerical integrated evaluation of soil fertility. The main research objectives and progress of soil fertility integrated evaluation are introduced in detail, and the problems existing in them are presented.
