Embedded development of reform and opening up and the market economy has brought new challenges on the university personnel training, so Chinese Communist Party construction in colleges and universities must solve the problem of improving the scientific construction level. Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Commission Party construction in colleges and universities quickly recoveredand gradually got on standardized development track. Positive experiences include strengthening political theory, consolidating the construction of basic level party organizations in universities and improving thequality of Party member team. Current problems are the lack of the theory study consciousness and systematicness, system and mechanism innovation deficiency of college party organizations and insufficient development of Party members and cadres in colleges and universities. To solve these problems for exploring the basic path of Party construction in colleges and universities, it is necessary to follow the guidance ofsocialist theory with Chinese characteristics, to reinforce system construction of college party organization and to improve the scientific level of Party construction in colleges and universities.
