Permeability of the concrete works closely with the durability of concrete. It is an important indicator for assessing the durability of concrete. Permeability controls the water, gas and other aggressive ions in concrete transfer rates. Characterization of concrete permeability can be measured by different media. This paper reviews the current penetration testing methods, applicable conditions, advantages and disadvantages, and notes the necessity of correlation of the three permeability methods.
