Research has revealed the sources of infection of biofilms in lesions of refractory fungal infections.Understanding biofilm formation by fungi and the impact of factors and resistance mechanisms to combat fungal infections has great clinical significance.This review discusses the formation and structure of fungal biofilms,factors influencing biofilm formation,and mechanisms that may affect the susceptibility of biofilms formed by fungi to antifungal agents.
