By using the thermo-optieal effect of fluorinated polyimide to modulate the index in partial region of multimode waveguide, a tunable polyimide-based multimode interference (MMI) waveguide power splitter is designed. The characteristics of power splitter are simulated by the finite-difference beam propagation method (BPM),and the results show that large tuning range can be realized.
