Vertical section of single-span eatenary theory had great significance for the design of suspension. Vertical section profile of catenary could determine weather the construction of suspension was suitable for the variable slope of the ground. Establishing the mathematical model of vertical section profile on the basis of single-span catenary theory, the designer can develops the system of the drawing of vertical section profile of single span cableway by VB 6.0 system software. The design calculation of the single-span light skidding cableway in Mining sterile field of Erdu in Shaowu City of Fujian Province verified the feasibility of the system of vertical section profile.
