Objective To compose the Maoming Directory of Medicare for disease classification and coding in order to meet the disease classification standard and the demand of the medical insurance payment management. Methods We compared the Maoming Directory of Medicare for disease classification with the disease directory for medical insurance refun- ding, removing the repeated names of diseases. Results The Maoming diseases classification and coding directory for the medical insurance hospital at the grass root level. Conclusion The newly - established Maoming medicare classification and code directory paves the way for the implementation of DRGs and for the scientific management of Maoming medical insurance funds.
