This article is concerned with an optimal harvesting problem in steady states of a sizestructured population model with elastic growth, which displays a different effect of weighted population size on mortality and fertility of individuals. Existence of optimal policies are established by Ascoli-Arzela's theorem, and a maximum principle is derived by means of variations of needle forms. Finally, a detailed analysis of the equilibria level for the switching function leads to the uniqueness of optimal strategies.
