Stilbene glycoside, one of effective ingredients from Polygonum multiflorum Thunb., possesses a wide range of bioactivities. This paper reviewed the multi-biological activities of stilbene glucoside, including anti-aging, anti-atherosclerosis, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, free radical scavengers, liver protection, etc. The potential action mechanisms and the application prospects of stilbene glycoside were discussed. This review search multiflo provided scientific evidences for further restudy and clinical application of Polygonum rum Thunb. and stilbene glucoside.
