通过对α-石英自然晶面六方柱面(1010)和(0110)、菱面体正形面(1011)与菱面体负形面(0111)、以及介于上述自然晶面之间的切面进行腐蚀形貌的观察研究发现,石英晶体同种单形的晶面(切面)腐蚀坑形态相同,但方位可以有变化,不同单形的晶面(切面)腐蚀坑形态不同;同一单形的正形与负形腐蚀坑形状不同;蚀坑形态能够反映晶体的对称性。α-石英晶体各晶面(切面)的蚀坑形态在三维空间分布的投影图可用于岩石中α-石英晶体的定向及缺陷研究。这一观察研究对厘清α-石英晶体腐蚀形貌立体全方位的对称关系、指导岩石中α-石英晶体的定向研究具有理论与实际意义。
Based on the observation of atomic force microscopy (AFM), the etching morphology of faces and sections with different crystallographic significance on α-quartz has been studied. The etching morphology on the natural crystal faces (hexagonal prism faces (1010)and (01 0), rhom bohedron positive form face (1011), rhombohedron negative form face (0111)) and the sections between any of the two crystal faces has been observed. It is shown that the etching pit on the same simple form has the same shape, while the orientation of the etching pits can be different. Different simple forms have different shapes of etching pits and the shapes of etching pits on positive form and negative form of the same simple form are also different. The etching morphology reflects the symmetry of a-quartz and the projection of the three dimensional distribution of etching pits on α-quartz can be used for the orientation analysis and defects analysis of a quartz in rocks. This research can help understand the three dimensional symmetry property on a quartz and provide a useful method for the orientation analysis and defects analysis of α-quartz in rocks.
