英文摘要：

The coming era of big data, particularly the introduction of data science, is having a significant influence on the development of information science. First, the basic terms, theoretical foundations, relevant state-of-the-art studies, and emerging directions are discussed in depth. Then, it is proposed that data science will provide informa- tion science with a novel theoretical foundations, as well as the alternative methods, technologies, and tools is con- sidered based upon a detailed discussion regarding the nexus between data science and domain knowledge. Finally, implications of data science on the field of information science are described from five separate perspectives： theo- retical foundations, scientific roles, data awareness, research patterns, and research focus. Finally, emerging research topics in the field of information science in the era of big data are also proposed.
