Because of properties of fiber laser,like high photoelectric conversion efficiency, low energy- consumption,highbeam quality, excellent controllability for power and facula, and shorter wavelength, lighter quality,durable and flexible compared with C02 laser,fiber laser has great huge market potential in materials hot processing fields. Then from the view of principle and characteristics of fiber laser hot working,advantages and current application status of fiber laser in laser welding, cladding and annealing were presented.
