Firstly, the development of workflow mining was analyzed and its importance was discussed. Then,accord ing to the mining contents, workflow mining was divided into three categories： workflow model restructuring,workflow monitoring and evaluation,organization view mining. Each category was studied in detail. Furthermore, main problems existing in the workflow mining were listed and main applications were also summarized.
