With the development of digital information technology and general practice. At present,increasingly more information technology is applied in general practice,such as electronic health records,electronic medical records,remote medical consultation system,two-way referral system,family health monitoring and medical service by visual telephone. Digital information technology is conducive to optimizing the allocation of health resources,realizing the sharing of medical information, and improving the level of medical service. It is targeted at the principle of＆quot; people-oriented service＆quot; in general practice and is beneficial to grassroots medical institutions to better serve community health care and national health care. Application of digital information technology in general practice provides a reference for the formulation of health policies and a guidance for community health service. The article introduced the status at home and abroad, specific manifestations, advantages, problems of the application of digital information technology in genreal practice,in order to provide suggestions for further research.
