The intrinsic viscosity [η] and the glass transition temperature(Tg) of polystyrene were determined respectively by using Ubbelohde viscometer and differential scanning calorimeter, and the relationship between its number-average relative molecular mass(Mn) and Tg was obtained through regression of experimental data. A practical method is provided for simply preparing polystyrene and testing Tg.
