This article reviews bow polymer science in China opened to the world during the past 30 years of reform and opening-up, Analysis and discussions are made on three main aspects： the rise of publications in international journals; the developments in organizing international symposia from small bilateral ones to IUPAC World Polymer Congress and the role of sending visiting scholars and students to abroad.
