本文旨在揭示中国R＆D经费空间分布及其变动特征．在文献回顾基础上，从区域R＆D经费总量及其内部结构——政府R＆D经费和产业R＆D经费三个方面，以中国省级行政区为单位，通过集中度、变差系数、基尼系数等指标，对1998--2004年以来区域R＆D经费空间分布及其变动特征进行全面的实证研究，结果表明：从总体上看，区域R＆D总经费空间分布高度不均衡，且维持相对稳定状态；就其内部结构来说，政府R＆D经费在空间上趋于均衡分布，产业R＆D经费呈进一步非均衡分布，两者呈相反变化趋势．

英文摘要：

It aims to discover the characteristics of spatial distribution and its changing trends of regional R＆D expenditure in China. Based on literature review, a full-scale empirical study on 1998--2004 spatial distribution and its changing trend of regional R＆D expenditure in China is made in terms of spatial concentration degree, variation coefficient, Gini coefficient and etc, from the three aspects of total regional R＆D expenditure and its inner structure, government-sponsored R＆D expendifure and business R＆D expenditure. The resut shows that： （1） Total R＆D expenditure is distributed uniformly spatially and the status almost unchanged in China from 1998--2004; （2） As for the government-sponsored R＆D expenditure and business R＆D expenditure, they have the opposite changing trends, namely government-sponsored R＆D expenditure tends to spatial equilibrium while business R＆D expenditure is expending its more spatial disequilibrium.
