Cell adhesion molecules （CAMs） are the key cellular molecules, which mediates many biologic actions such as cell-cell recognition, cell-matrix adhesion and in early vertebrate embryos. The relationship between CAMs and tumor metastasis is reviewed in this article, as well as the important role of CAMs during tumor progress. And it gives us the theoretical base for new pathways of cancer treatment.
